Community Guidelines
Last updated September 22, 2026
Porchside is a community for meeting people through real, in-person activities. These Community Guidelines explain what we expect from everyone who uses the Service and what is not allowed. They apply to all profiles, listings, messages, photos, polls, ratings, and other content, and to your conduct at activities and in the communities you join. We enforce these Guidelines actively. Violating them can result in content removal, suspension, or a permanent ban, and serious violations may be reported to law enforcement. By using Porchside, you agree to follow these Guidelines and our Terms of Service.
1. Who Can Use Porchside
You must be at least 18 years old to use Porchside. Use your real identity, keep your profile accurate, and maintain only one account. Do not use Porchside if you have been previously banned from the Service or are barred from using it under applicable law.
2. Treat People With Respect
Porchside only works when people feel safe and welcome. Be courteous to hosts and fellow attendees, communicate honestly, honor the commitments you make, and respect other people's boundaries, time, and property. Treat others the way you would want to be treated at an activity.
3. Zero Tolerance for Objectionable Content and Behavior
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. The following are strictly prohibited on Porchside and at activities arranged through it: harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation, or stalking; hate speech or content that attacks or demeans people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation; violence or the incitement of violence; sexual harassment, unwanted sexual advances, or the solicitation of sex or sexual services; nudity, pornography, or sexually explicit content; any content that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits minors, which we report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and to law enforcement as the law requires; content that depicts or promotes self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders; illegal activity, including the sale or use of illegal drugs or weapons; and content that is fraudulent, deceptive, or designed to scam other users. There are no exceptions.
4. Be Authentic
Use accurate information and your own photos. Do not impersonate another person, misrepresent who you are, or create fake or duplicate profiles. Do not post content that belongs to someone else without their permission. If you take on a listing that came from a public source, make sure what it says is accurate before people rely on it.
5. No Spam, Scams, or Unauthorized Commercial Use
Do not use Porchside to spam other users, send unsolicited promotions, run pyramid or referral schemes, solicit money or financial information, or conduct commercial activity that we have not authorized. Hosting paid activities is permitted only through the Service's payment features and subject to our Terms of Service and Host Agreement. Do not invite people to a community with addresses you bought, scraped, or otherwise gathered without their agreement.
6. Respect Other People's Information
Porchside shows you things about other members so that you can meet them: who is coming to an activity, who is in a community, and, if you host or organize, more than that. Use it for that purpose and nothing else. Do not copy, export, compile, or scrape other members' information, whether by hand or by automated means. Do not use what you learn on Porchside to contact someone off Porchside for marketing or to promote anything, to identify or look them up elsewhere, or to build a list. Do not republish another member's photo or details outside Porchside without their permission. Do not take screenshots of member information to keep or to share. Hosts and community organizers see the most about other people and are bound by the additional rules in our Host Agreement.
7. Stay Safe at Activities
Activities happen in the real world, and your safety is in your hands. Meet in public places when you can, tell someone you trust about your plans, and use the in-app safety tools. Do not bring weapons or illegal substances to activities. If you ever feel unsafe, leave and contact local emergency services. Porchside does not screen users or run background checks, so use your own judgment about who you meet and what you do.
8. Reporting and Blocking
If you see behavior or content that violates these Guidelines, tell us. You can report a member from their profile or from a direct-message conversation, and you can block any member, which stops them contacting you and hides your activity from them. To report a specific activity, listing, message, photo, poll, community, or rating, email support@porchside.co with a description and, where you can, a link or a screenshot, or report the member responsible. We treat a report sent to that address as a report under these Guidelines. We do not share who reported a person with the person reported, except where the law requires it, although we will tell them that reports were filed. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. For child safety concerns, see our Child Safety Standards, which include a dedicated contact.
9. How We Enforce These Guidelines
We review reports and act as quickly as we can, prioritizing reports of imminent harm, of child sexual abuse or exploitation, and of threats to safety. Depending on the severity, we may remove content, issue a warning, restrict features, suspend an account, or permanently ban a user. We may take these actions with or without notice and at our discretion. We may also withhold or reverse payouts in cases of fraud or abuse, and we may report unlawful conduct to law enforcement. Some enforcement is automatic. Our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy describe the automated processes we use and how to ask for human review. Removing someone from a community ends their membership. If someone needs to stay out of a community you organize, contact support@porchside.co. If you believe we made a mistake, appeal by contacting support@porchside.co. A person reviews every appeal. As section 20 of our Terms of Service says, how we describe working here is our intent rather than a guarantee, and nothing in these Guidelines obliges us to monitor or to act in any particular case.
10. Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these Guidelines from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Guidelines.
