Cookie Policy
Last updated September 22, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Kinward, Inc. ("Porchside") uses cookies and similar technologies on the porchside.co website, and what the equivalent technologies are in our mobile app. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Similar technologies include browser local and session storage, and, in mobile apps, software development kits and device identifiers that serve a comparable purpose. They help a site function, remember information about your visit, and measure use.
2. The Cookies We Use
Our website uses a small, fixed set. We do not use cookies for advertising and we allow no third-party advertising trackers. Strictly necessary. A session cookie set by our authentication provider keeps you signed in. Blocking it prevents sign-in. Functional. A cookie records which metropolitan area the site should show you. When you are signed in it is set from the area on your profile; otherwise the site works it out from your connection, as our Privacy Policy describes. Attribution. A first-party cookie records for 90 days which campaign or link first brought you to the site, so we can understand where interest in hosting comes from. It is readable by the page, contains a short tag and no personal details, and it is not set at all when your browser signals Global Privacy Control. Analytics. Google Analytics 4 sets cookies (named _ga and similar) to measure site use. We configure it to send a redacted page path rather than the full URL, so share links and tokens are not sent, and our analytics events are designed not to carry names, email addresses, or phone numbers. The Google tag is not loaded at all when your browser signals Global Privacy Control, in which case no analytics cookie is set. Google's privacy information is at policies.google.com/privacy. Browser storage. We use a few session-storage keys to remember things within a tab, such as a calendar position and whether you navigated within the site. They are cleared when you close the tab. We do not use pixels or web beacons in email, session-replay software, or flash storage.
3. Your Choices
There is no cookie banner on our site, because we set no advertising cookies and the analytics and attribution cookies respond to your browser's own signal. Where your browser or extension sends a recognized opt-out preference signal, including the Global Privacy Control, we do not load the analytics tag, we do not set the attribution cookie, and where you arrive by scanning one of our printed codes we count the scan without the visitor value described in our Privacy Policy. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can clear browser storage there; blocking strictly necessary cookies prevents sign-in. Most browsers also let you block images, which prevents any pixel from loading.
4. Our Mobile App
The app does not use cookies. It stores your authentication tokens in your device's secure storage to keep you signed in, and a few local keys for things like your push-notification registration and a referral code. The app uses software development kits that collect information in a comparable way: Google's Firebase Analytics, which records screen views and product events with a pseudonymous app-instance identifier, and an error-reporting service, which reports errors and performance and attaches your account identifier. Push notifications use a token that identifies your app installation. The app contains no advertising software and we do not use advertising identifiers, and no App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown because we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. On Android, the analytics software the app includes may collect an advertising identifier until an app update turns that collection off. You can limit tracking in your device settings and turn off notification permissions there.
5. Changes and Contact
We may update this Cookie Policy as the technologies we use change. For questions about it, contact us at support@porchside.co. Kinward, Inc. Austin, Texas
